John Crain '14 ran in the California International Marathon in December, placing 12th out of more than 7,000 participants. The race was the USA Track and Field National Marathon Championship for 2017. Crain also received a Roads Scholar grant from the Road Runners Club of America. The grant is awarded to those who possess the ability to develop into national- and world-class road running athletes. In 2015, at the Houston Half Marathon, he qualified for the 2016 Olympic Trials. While at North Central, Crain was a four-time NCAA Division III national champion and a 10-time All-American. He was also named the most prolific DIII distance runner of all time.
