AJ Thomas ’14 just released his first album, “Lost in Thought,” and is residing in Nashville. Thomas got his start in music when he joined the school band in fourth grade, playing the trumpet, baritone and field drums. He continued to play in his school bands until he graduated from high school.
His life in music led him to appear on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and perform on Carnival Cruise lines. Thomas gives a lot of credit to his friend Ryan Follese, who is the lead singer of Hot Chelle Rae. Follese supplied him with equipment he needed to begin production on his album.
Thomas encourages people to work hard for their dream, “because it is never too late to go after something you want,” he says. “I want to encourage people to voice their opinions and speak up about what they think is morally correct for the people who not only live in this country, but the entire world.”
As far as the future goes, Thomas would like to perform a live show and continue the business side of music, which includes publishing, booking and label options. He may have started in music by beat boxing on the bus as a kid, but Thomas keeps growing his music brand.
His album “Lost in Thought” is available on iTunes and Apple Music.
