The North Central softball team finished another strong season by qualifying for NCAA Division III Regional Championship competition, finishing with an overall record of 32-9 and reaching as high as No. 9 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) National Rankings.
The Cardinals were selected to participate in the regional championship for the third straight year and the fifth time in the past six seasons, seeing the season end with a narrow 2-1 loss to regional host Lake Forest College in their final game on May 8.
Andrea Starr ’16 and Kiersten Tinkoff ’15 were named to the All-Great Lakes Region First Team by the NFCA, while Carly Trenhaile ’15 made the Second Team and Amanda Walker ’16 was voted to the Third Team. Starr also was named the CCIW’s Pitcher of the Year, while Trenhaile and Kayla Antle ’15 received Academic All-District accolades from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
